In this facility, respecting to the GLP guidelines and maintaining animal welfare and hygiene, animals including rabbit (oryctolagus cuniculus), rat (rattus norvegicus), C57BL/6J mouse (Mus musculus domesticus) and guinea pig (Cavia porcellus) are kept. In addition, a dedicated surgical room for operation on animals is available to provide services. Moreover, through a bilateral collaboration with the TUMS lab of immunodeficient mice, this section is active in development of patient-derived xenograft models or cancer vatars, especially for the maliganancies of the urogential tract. In order to use the services of this section as a part of research projects and academic theses, official arrangements should be made with the lab in-charge under the permission of the head of PURMRC through contracts or joint research projects.
